Our classmates Game Demos!

Today we had to go to our teammates game demos so I viewed K.T Ferrell and Amy Bess's game followed by Jessica Lynch and Jerimiah's game. They both had an AMAZING concept.
For Amy and K.t's game I thought itwas a great reflection on the high school dropout rates. The whole game play was cute and functionalble. The information that was in the game was educational I actually didnt know some of that info. and our game topics, well ideas for the game was similar. I really liked how the whole set up was they did really good.
As for Jess and Jerimiah, The game blew me away, I really can't even put it in words how great their game was. They did like a recycling game in west virgina and I felt ashamed after looking and actually playing their game. ENOUGH SAID!! Good job guys you all were freaking AMAZINGG!!

IT'S OVER!!

WOW I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. Chez I've enjoyed this class to the MAX. Your an amazing teacher, It wouldnt be the same if someone else taught this. Throughout this semester I would have to say that when I heard you announce "Making our own Game" I wanted to get switched, but i'm glad i stayed .
The people in this class are great, exspecially the people who clicked to flash, they were always willing to lend help for those who didnt quite understand. like me. I couldn't ask for a better class. Something interesting that we got to do in this class that i really enjoyed was being put into groups at random, we got to physially chat with eachother like you would usually do at home on a chatting website, we asked questions about the reading as we read the online textbook. It was a blast but while we were having fun....we read and learned something at the same time.
The biggest and hardest thing to me was working on the flash, I think it was more harder to me because I can't draw nor am I computer smart. And putting them together all at once was a challenge.....(foreal) but I watched and studied the tutorials and It made my life easier.I'm glad that was available to the students, because If I was a teacher and had to repeat myself over and over I we be bald!!
But this is It, I've had FUN and I hate to kiss This Globaloria class goodbye but I'm OUT OF HERE!! If it's possible I will still keep my gmail account and wiki page.
PEACE.LOVE.&FLASH.

4-WAY CHAT :D

Yesterday the coolest thing happened, me, Kt, Chad and Tiff formed a chat group as we read the online textbook. It was so fun. Like really, we can chat with our friends and read online at the same time? Along with reading the online textbook we each took turns sumerizing the section in which we all had read. For example, we all read, then Kt sumerized it, then we asked her questions about the reading and she answered the questions in the chat. Then we each took turns being the sumerizer. It was so cool, like in an ordinary class room it wouldn't have been fun a typical teacher would have said; "Get out your books, and do all the readings then answer the questions, or write a page report" so boring. Thats why I love this class you learn so much and you don't even realize it.

THE BEAUTIFUL LOVELY WEST VIRGINA

When others think of the wonderful state of West Virgina, they may think were all "hickish" and dumb with no home training. But that's clearly not the answer we have such beautiful breath taking mountains that can be captured and sold for millions there absolutely astonishing. I can honestly say that I've always wanted to move out of state but West Virgina is such an AMAZING place to live who could leave. I love living in the small state without worrying about tsunami wipe outs, blizzards, or earthquakes. Not to be rude I think I'll leave those troubles for some one else. West Virgina also has other great things and people that are our number one priority, Those would be our lovely coal miners who risk their lives just to keep our lights and power on and runing so we wouldn't live in a complete black out. It sucks to see all the deaths that that take place when theres people who willingly want to go so many feet under ground just to help out that state. But really who would have thought another tragic epic would occur in West Virgina. It really broke my heart to know that 29 minners were just killed by a mine explosion, all I can think of is their family thats left with all the great and sometimes bad memories of their love ones that did the daily routine of getting up in the mourining clean as a whistle and coming in at the "wee" hours in the night covered in dirt.I've never had to lose some one in a mine accident, but being in a loving caring High School made me realize West Virgina is the best state EVER. From here on out I will always be a proud moutaineer.

Each characters contributed something helpful to their society. Some was religious and some would hunt for food. The author also made a lawyer and a doctor. This story was creative and so detailed on everything. In the story the author gives us a very good picture and description of all of his characters. My favorite character is Friar because he's like cupid. I wish we could have someone like that in our world. That would be awesome. When we make our game the characters must be related to the game theme. If your theme is action and you have babies as characters that wouldn't look so good, and alot of people probably wouldn't play it. Any type of characterization is important in books, movies, and yes even in games. The characters in games should be creative and have something special or different about them. Alot of video games refelect a book or movie so it all goes together.

PJ the FOSTER!

I think it's great that a student can actually get into flash and memorize all the codes to makes things move, pop, and jump. P.j came into our class and really helped me understand how to get on his level, he described everything well in detail, like I really understood how to go in and change things. He also came to everyones computer and showed us all how to go back and change things if we screwed it up.Hee explained what we did and how it would work if it was left the way it was. I really hope that P.J goes and majors in computer things because he's AMAZING! THANKS

Animation!!

APRIL FOOLS-APRIL FOOLS-APRIL FOOLS-APRIL FOOLS-APRIL FOOLS-APRIL FOOLS!
Today our teacher assigned us to watch a tutorial on animation. The video was basically a step-to-step directional video that showed us how to make an object move, as she was telling us what we were going to accomplish in class today my head started spinning. As I watched the video I realized that was probably the easiest thing I've done in this class since I got in here. Me and my partner Kayla got on our flashes and created the moving object the very first time with no hessitations. I'm extra excited to add the aninmation to our mini game.

THE BUTTON

WELL OUR TEACHER SAID WE WERE GOING TO BE MAKING BUTTONS,I JUST ASSUMED THAT SHE WAS TALKIN ABOUT GETTING OUT A PIECE OF PAPER AND LITERALLY DRAWING A BUTTON. BUT THAT WAS CLEARLY NOT THE CASE. WE HAD TO GET ON ARE FLASH AND DO ALL TYPES OF SMART TECHNICAL THINGS THAT MADE OUR BUTTON CHANGE COLORS. MY PARTNER KAYLA AND ME HAD A HARD TIME, WE HAD WATCHED THE TUTORIAL INSTRUCTION VIDEO LIKE TWENTY TIMES. IT KIND OF BECAME FRUSTRATING, BUT ME BEING THE SALT AND MY PEPAAAHH BEING THE BRAINS WE BOTH USED OUR HEADS TOGETHER AND MADE IT WORK.

Audience

The story teller's ideas in Beowolf were exciting and kept the audience on their toes. Not knowing what's going to happen next is always a good story. The story teller's beliefs about the intended audience affected the content of the story by making it kind of hard to comprehend. It's hard for me to understand what the story teller is trying to say. Thanks to Chez explaining alot of it i sometimes get it. I think my audience in my video game will be people like me, in their teens. My game is gonna consist of making your own decisions. Alot of people like real life games like that, like the sims. The characters you can choose from in my game are going to be like real life people. You could be the football player or maybe the class clown. I think those are fun characters to be.

Super Hero

My super hero is the most cutestest, fluffest panda china will ever see. My pandas name is Reece "The Cup" Jenkins, he saves old china men and women who are disabled and can't get around. He is a proud helper in the senior citezen hirize home. Reece helps the women when its time to do denture cleaning. He loves when he gets a snack time, everyone knows that reece loves reese cups thats were he gets his name from. If you could have a pet I bet you a million bucks that Reece would be the perfect panda pet.

Mini Game

I've been very excited to start on my Mini Game Assignment because it's getting us one step closer in making our own video game. When we first started out I was very confused, but after reading carefully through the directions I started putting my codes together and getting my rabbit and carrot to show up and move. This assignment took me a couple days to finish because i kept putting codes in the wrong place. I'm very proud of myself that I finished the game and I'm very excited to start my own video game.

Choosing a Topic

Education is one of the serious topics in West Virginia. The drop out rates have increased in such a short amount of time. This has affected my community. A large amount of kids in high school feel like they don't need their diploma, but without a diploma you won't go anywhere in life. I feel like the state should change the drop out age to 18 that away kids can't drop out till there senior year. That would be stupid to do so because you'll only have a few months till you can get your diploma. Most kids are influenced in school by their enviroment and family. If the enviroment is negative they're going to be the same way because that's how they've grown to be. Also if the family don't care the kids won't either. I think education is something everyone should address their attention too. If people would do so, I feel like the government would come up with more and better solutions on how to solve this.

Imagine Your Game

In class we have been working on our paper protyping. Destyne and Me are partners and have got alot of good ideas for our video game. We're going to reflect are game off of Super Mario. The goal is to complete four levels to get your diploma. Also throughout the game you will gather points to get a promise scholarship. On level one you will choose between four different types of characters. After choosing your character you will begin at a school. You will be running through gathering books, but you must avoid the bad grades ! They are able to take one of your five lives. After all five lives are taken you will have to restart at level one, so you must be careful ! On level two you will be on a football field and you will have to gather all the footballs for points, but you must dodge the football players that are trying to stop you. On level three you are at a party and you will have to collect all your friends without getting stopped by the drugs or alcohol ! After completing these three levels you will have one more to go. On level four you are on the stage soon to get your diploma. You must follow the diploma to the finish line, but while doing that the group of dropouts will try to stop you so you must dodge them ! We are very excited to create our game ! (:

Salt &+ Pepper Shaking Up the Flashhhh ! (:

Kayla and I have such a good video game planned. While we were planning our game we realized how much detail is going to be put in each level. I really look forward to putting our game together, but I'm not happy about inserting all the codes. That's probably going to take a couple years. Exspecially with Destyne and me we didn't do so well on our mini game, so are video game is going to take a while (:

Beowulf

When I read beowulf I didnt actually understand it, but when I sat and thought about superman and batman beowulf jus seemed like he could be their side kick or road dog, but in a mortol sort ov way. I do believe that beowulf met the super hero requirements just because he basically stopped a wild monster who was on a killing spree and fought him till his death. I would use him in a video game because his physical apperence woould scare the crap out of some whimpy gammers and i would use him to gain mortal power over all the vilians out ther in tha world ov warcraft. I would use beowulf for both educational and entertainment games.

Reflexion of Games

Today in the room of chezglobaloria, we played to learn we tested professional and student games and opinionized them. The two games that I choose were "Infinity Quest" and "The Puzzle Game". Infinity Quest was a professional game It was not as good as the student game called The Puzzle Game. You would think the professional game would be more challenging and interesting, but the student game was more creative and fun. The Puzzle game took a still puzzle, and once the puzzle was put together it appeared life like.

ONLINE SAFETY For parents

Keep computers in a central place. It makes it easier for you to keep an eye on your children’s activities.
Teach Internet Safety. It's impossible to monitor all online activity, all the time. As kids get older, they need to know how to use the Internet safely and responsibly when they're on their own.
Use sharing controls. Using sharing controls is particularly important when you or your kids share personal information, like names, addresses, or phone numbers, on public sites. In addition to teaching your kids how to use these controls, teach them to respect the privacy of friends and family by not identifying people by name in public profiles and pictures.
Protect passwords. It sounds obvious, but remind your kids not to give out their online passwords and not to click on "remember me" settings on public computers, like at school or at the library.
Beware of stranger danger. Teach kids to avoid in-person meetings with people they "meet" online, and not to share personal information with online strangers because people may not be who they claim to be.
Teach kids to communicate responsibly. A good rule of thumb is: if you wouldn't say it to someone's face, don't text it, email it, instant message it, or post it as a comment on someone's page. .

View all content critically. Just because you see it online, doesn't mean it's true. Teach kids how to reliable sources from unreliable ones and how to verify information they find online. And make sure kids understand that cutting and pasting content right from a website may be plagiarism, and plagiarism is cheating.
